Discover the Wonders of the Ocean at the Long Beach Aquarium – A Fun-Filled Adventure Awaits!

The Long Beach Aquarium is a breathtaking and enriching experience located in the heart of downtown Long Beach. My boyfriend and I have been on a museum kick lately and our recent visit to the aquarium was nothing short of amazing. This 5-acre public aquarium is packed with interactive games, educational exhibits, and the chance to interact with marine life like never before.

From the peaceful and mesmerizing movements of jellyfish to the majestic sharks swimming gracefully in the tanks, it’s easy to feel like you’re exploring the underwater world in person. Our favorite part was watching the playful sea lions and the frenzy of the fish feeding, their energy and enthusiasm was contagious. The trainers were also entertaining to watch as they interacted with the animals.

One of the highlights of the Long Beach Aquarium is the touch tanks where visitors can reach out and touch some of the sea creatures, experiencing the unique textures of stingrays, jellyfish, and more. Although, I didn’t partake in any animal touching, this hands-on sensory experience is unlike anything else.

For those seeking a bit of fun, there are interactive games that challenge your knowledge and allow you to learn something new about the ocean and its inhabitants. I particularly liked the games that asked about the amount of water used specifically in Orange County, as it was relatable and quite interesting to learn about.

When our hunger hit, the Long Beach Aquarium provided plenty of options to choose from, with not one, but two cafes on site. Whether you’re in need of a quick snack or a sit-down meal, you’re sure to find something to satisfy your taste buds. We decided on a classic turkey sandwich, complete with a side of crispy chips and a sweet treat in the form of a cookie. And the best part? There are plenty of seating options available, whether you want to relax near the cafes or take in the sights from the veranda.

Be sure to take in the short film on the interdependence between the sea and humans, it’s a powerful reminder of the ocean’s significance in our lives and the importance of protecting it for future generations.

Admission to the Long Beach Aquarium is $40, but with the advantage of AAA or corporate discounts, you can save money and enjoy even more of what the aquarium has to offer. Parking is just an $8 fee, but the best part is that the parking validation expires at midnight, giving you the flexibility to continue your adventure in the lively downtown Long Beach area. Explore the local shops and restaurants, take a leisurely stroll and make a day of it.

In conclusion, the Long Beach Aquarium is the perfect place for a fun-filled and educational adventure. Whether you’re with friends, family, or your significant other, or prefer to have a solo day, come experience the beauty and wonder of the sea for yourself.
