BUZZing Around

AH. The 80 degree weather hits me with open arms as I made my way out of the SJD airport. It has been two years since the last time I was in Baja and I can’t tell you how happy I am to be here. The air, smell, sound and everything about Mexico screams excitement in my head. There’s just an unexplainable happy feeling I get whenever I am in another country. Can anyone relate to this?  My flight arrived a few minutes early which, gave me a chance to look around the main entrance of the International airport while I waited for my folks to pick me up. I noticed how busy it was in the area. There were people everywhere either waiting, going in and out of the building or sitting at the bar (and table) having a cocktail and listening to music. Times have definitely changed over the years in Baja from what I remembered it to be.

I’ve noticed there’s a lot of new developments (much more) in the recent years all throughout San Jose Del Cabo and in the East Escape to be more specific. There are new hotels, timeshares, homes or grocery stores either being built or just opened that I never saw two years ago. I’m not quite sure how I feel about it if, it’s good or bad. I suppose it is good for the economy in Mexico but, for keeping the natural beauty of Baja it is bad.

Anyway, one of the original restaurants in the East Escape that everyone should visit is the Buzzards.

A casual atmosphere with a relax attitude, this place is perfect for those who wants to have a quick bite to eat. A few items they offer during lunch hours are drinks, appetizers, snacks and lunch plates. One tidbit to add is that they do not accept credit cards, so make sure you have plenty of cash with you. I ended up ordering two shrimp tacos. It was one of the best fresh shrimp tacos I’ve had in a while.

Dad had ordered the Coconut Shrimp which, I had the chance to try. They were savory shrimp on a stick paired with two dipping sauces. These were appetizer portions and were much smaller in compare to mom’s fish and chips. I also had a chance to try some of her food and that was just as delicious as the tacos and the Coconut Shrimp. I realized you really can’t go wrong with any of the food here.
