Wow, where did the time go? It seems like just yesterday I was returning home after living abroad for over a year. I was torn between my love for Europe and my happiness to be back in America. The biggest adjustment for me this year (and it’s still an ongoing process) has been getting used to my American lifestyle again. I had to get back into a work routine, deal with traffic, and adjust to the types of food available. I also had to cut back drastically on traveling, which has been tough for me. However, on the bright side, I’ve been able to spend more time with my family, reconnect with old friends, and make new friends.

Despite not traveling as much as I used to, I still make it a priority and have had the chance to visit some new places, like Scottsdale and the Big Island. This year has also brought some challenges and lessons for me. I learned that I have a pretty good aim, persevered through a wildfire, and stood up for myself in situations that weren’t a good fit for me. It’s been a stressful year at times, but I think it’s unfolded in the best way it could and I’m okay with that.

I just want to say a big thank you to my family and friends, old and new, for making this year such a wonderful experience. Here’s to an even better 2018!
