Zurich is a beautiful city that truly comes alive at night with its stunning lights. Even though we missed the official opening of the Christmas lights in November, the experience of walking around the city and taking in the illuminated streets and buildings was truly magical. The city already has a unique charm, but the lights add an extra layer of enchantment.
We strolled through the markets, sampling delicious local foods and browsing handmade crafts. The sound of street performers and the chatter of excited shoppers adds to the lively atmosphere. As the night wears on, the city takes on a different feel, and the hustle and bustle of the markets gives way to a more intimate and romantic atmosphere. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned traveler, experiencing Zurich at night is a must.

One thing to keep in mind when exploring Zurich is that trams have priority on the roads. There are two types of trams, the older ones and the newer ones. You can tell them apart by the fact that the newer trams are much quieter, so be extra cautious when crossing the streets as you never know when a tram might be right around the corner.
Overall, Zurich is a city that should not be missed, especially at night when the lights bring the city to life. The charm and beauty of Zurich is undeniable, and the experience of walking through the streets while taking in the lights and the unique architecture is truly unforgettable. Whether you’re looking for a romantic evening stroll or simply want to explore the city in a new light, Zurich is definitely worth a visit.
